Chapter Eight
“Who is it?”
A man’s voice said, “Detective Nigel.”
Anthony backed up and pulled up his pants as I put my gown back on, I apologized, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize.”
He smiled at me and I smiled back, before opening the door.
“Detective Nigel and this is Detective Roland.” He looked at his pad and said, “Are you Andrea Coley?”
“Yes, I am.”
“Can we come in?”
“I’m sorry, yes, come on in.” I backed up from the door as they walked in, Anthony walked over to me and put his arm around my waist.
“And you’re sir?” Detective Nigel inquired.
“My name is Anthony Wentworth. I live next door.”
“Well, Ms. Coley and Mr. Wentworth, have y’all been here all night?”
“Yes.”
“No.” I looked over at Anthony when he said no. He went on to say, “I got here around eleven tonight and I didn’t leave until one.”
“Is that true Ms. Coley?”
“Yes.”
“Is it also true you had a party over here tonight?”
“Yes.”
“And was Mr. Love over here?”
“Who,” I asked as I looked up at Detective Nigel.
Anthony quickly said, “He’s referring to Bradley.”
“Oh, yes, he and his wife were here.”
“What time did they leave?”
“Everyone left around ten or before.”
“Ms. Coley, can you get me a list of everyone who was here?”
“Sure,” I said as I walked over to the table, picked up an ink pen and pad to write down names. I walked back over and handed him the paper.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
“Well, we better get going.”
“I should leave too.” Anthony said as he touched my arm.
“Okay. Goodnight.”
He said, “Goodnight.” He kissed me on the lips and I watched as he walked out the door, before going upstairs to take a shower.
The water felt good. I thought about what almost happened between me and Anthony, I also thought about what he had said about his brother. When the doorbell rang again, I said, “Damn, it’s starting to feel like Grand Central Station in here.” I grabbed my robe and walked downstairs. As I opened the door, I was quickly swept off my feet.
“I couldn’t stay away.” Anthony said as he picked me up and closed the door with his feet.
When I wrapped my arms around his neck, he kissed me and headed upstairs with me in his arms.
He asked, “Which room?”
As I looked up at him, I said, “The last one on your right.”
He stood me beside the bed and I unbutton his shirt, as I touched his stomach, I ran my hands up to his shoulder making sure I touched his scar, before removing his shirt from his shoulder. When his shirt hit the floor, he opened my robe and I took in a deep breath as my robe hit the floor also.
Anthony unfastened his pants as he stared into my eyes. He then took hold of my hands and kissed them before running them over his body, causing me to take in another deep breath.
He was so fine. He ran his hand behind my head and kissed me before picking me up and gently laying me on the bed. I
